Bald Rock
Bald Rock***
Cool rocks in a cool setting, and by the looks of the place there is a lot more here.
Approach: 10 hike from the Big Bald Rock Trail head, the boulders are on your 2 o'clock once you start heading up the granite.
Ambiance: **** Doesn't get much better than this, some great boulders with cool aretes, views, and flat landings.
Parking: Park at the trailhead.
Kids/Dogs: They both did good. There is a lot for the little ones to climb.
Shade: Pretty exposed, but there are a surprising number of north facing problems in the shade.
Rock Type: Granite-Quality varies
Notes: Their are bolts on top of a lot of the problems. The 0's and 1's are pretty stout, and a couple of big pads would be nice for many of the problems.

Directions: From Oroville take the CA-162 (Oroville-Quincy Highway) past Lake Oroville about 19 miles then right on Bald Rock Road and follow it for 7.2 miles up hill to the Bald Rock Road Trail head. Bald Rock Road loops back on to the 162 so from Quincy Bald Rock Road is on the left and you can take it down hill for about 3 and a half miles and the Trail head will be on your right.
